Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced on Tuesday that Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 would resume on 17 May, while the final would be played on 25 May. Taking the X, Naqvi said, “HBL PSL X left May. Teams!” Last week, the tournament was suspended indefinitely after the increasing border tension between India and Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the revised program and places have not been confirmed yet and will be released soon. It is expected that the remaining eight matches of the tournament will be staged in Pakistan, in which the franchisees are eager to conclude the season as soon as possible.
According to an Espncricinfo report, PSL held meetings with franchise representatives on Monday to discuss possible dates and places for upcoming matches. An important concern remains the availability of foreign players, as many are unlikely to return. This uneven availability can affect the balance of the team, as some franchisees appear more confident about the return of their international players than others. To address the issue, PCB is considering having a replacement draft to fill the gap.
Additionally, this development confirms that Bangladesh’s visit to Pakistan will not follow its originally planned program. The PSL final was scheduled for Bangladesh on the same day, which was to play the first T20I against Pakistan in Faisalabad. The BCB has said that the discussion about the tour is “active and running”.
As per the original program, Bangladesh was scheduled to play five T20Is in Faisalabad and Lahore from 25 May to 3 June.
