Jokin Pererara scored a goal and scored another assistance as Minnesota United won 3–0 over hosts Austin FC in a Western Conference match on Saturday.
Lones (5-2-4, 19 digits) won for the first time after April 6 but scored the third time in four matches. Minnesota is unbeaten in nine out of its last 10 outing and on 27 April, a 3–1 defeat has been rebounded at the West-Leading Vancouver’s house.
Minnesota goalkeeper Denne St. Claire stopped four shots for his sixth clean sheet of the year.
Austin (5–5–1, 16 points) dropped their second direct match without finding the net and was held without a goal for the fifth time this season. Varde was aggressive. Usman Bookri had an outstanding scoring opportunity in the 14th minute that was batted by St. Clare. But the rebound rolled Austin’s Owen Wolf’s authority, which was then rejected in Golmouth.
Pererara rotated the table on Austin in the 22nd minute, charged into the aggressive area and ripped a shot from the leg of Varde Midfielder Ili Sanchez, which wandered through the feet of Keeper Brad Stuver and in the net. The score was credited as a goal for Anthez and Minnesota gave a 1-0 lead.
Lones added to their advantage in the 35th minute when Anthony Marknich used his head in the center of the box to turn around a pass from Jefferson Diaz and defeated the Stuver in the right corner.
Perera had another chance in the first half -wanning moments of the first half, capable of stolar corals by hitting the left leg shot from outside the box center.
Austin tried to counter in the second half, but managed only one shot on the target by Robert Taylor, which was blocked by Loans Defender Jefferson Diaz.
It designed the platform for Perera’s goal, which came from outside the box in the first minute of stops time with a clinical left-leg which put a bow on the victory.
