5 catches fell! Team India drags poor catching in IND vs ENG 1st Test in IPL

Three catches were dropped when Jasprit Bumrah was bowling. Overall, Idia dropped five catches, leading to Ben Docket and Harry Brook scored half -century and Oli Pope in a century.
There is a saying: Win the catch you match. But India does not follow the cricket team. While many people argued that floodlights could influence catches in IPL 2025, Indian cricketers seemed to have felt that poor catching form for ING 1 Test. India left as five catches, making Ben Docket a fifty, Oli Pope a century, and Harry Brook a half -century.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant and Sai Reformson were guilty of leaving everyone as India had allowed England to score 327/5 in 77 overs for lunch on day 3. Jaiswal dropped two occasions. And add no-ball of Jasprit Bumrah in Brook, India gave six opportunities in the first innings. Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar was not happy, catching the poor of India very disappointing.
“I don’t think a medal will be given. T Dileep gives them after a match. It was really very, very disappointing. Sunil Gavaskar said after the end of the day 3.
Butter fingers
In IPL 2025, catching efficiency took a noseive. All teams joint had a catching efficiency of only 75%. In the Idingley I was not very different in the Ind vs. Eng 1st test. Jaiswal, who sparked two catches on day 2, had to take a special slip catching session from Fielding Coach T Dilip before the start of day 3.
Drop 1: Ben Docket
The first reprise of Docket came in the fifth over. While many would argue that this was a difficult opportunity for Jaiswal, it went down as a missing opportunity. Docket managed a thick edge from Bumrah’s entire delivery. But Jaiswal, who was in the street at that time, failed and went to a limit.
Drop 2: Ben Docket
The best chance against Docket came in the 7th over. As Docket tried to get out a delivery out, he gave Ravindra Jadeja an easy catch at the backward point. But the best fielder in India dropped that catch. Thanks to the dropped opportunities, Docket scored 62, before Bumrah cleaned him.
Drop 3: Oli Pope
Not only Ben Docket, even Oli Pope was riding his luck, which was on the second consecutive century path. Yashasvi Jaiswal was once again guilty as he refused to hold Bumrah with some scavenging. In the 31st over, just after rejecting the docket, Bumrah created another chance with the Pope, which took it to the third slip. But Bumrah could only put his hand on the head because Jaiswal dropped the catch. The Pope scored 106 to punish India’s scavenging.
Drop 4: Harry Brook
At the end of day 3, Bumrah got a chance to remove Harry Brook for a duck. Brook’s top edge went directly to Mohammad Siraj, and he grabbed the ball. But it came out a no-ball. On day 3, Ravindra Jadeja made a chance when Brook took it to Rishabh Pant. But the ball hit the thumb of pants and he failed to catch the ball. Brooke soon slammed a fifty.
Drop 5: Jamie Smith
Ravindra Jadeja, who caught himself, created another opportunity on day 3. Jamie Smith tried to come under the track and flick Jadeja. But he did not get enough bat on him. Instead, he gave Sai Reformson a chance, which was in small legs. But the improvement was not enough to react because the ball hit their fingers and went down. Smith scored 40 runs.
