3 centuries, 10 wickets in two games

Mushir Khan signed an IPL deal with Punjab Kings this season, while his brother was unsafe in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Musheer Khan is in the form of his life. The 20-year-old Mumbai batter, currently on tour with the MCA Emerging Players squad in England, brought up his third consecutive century on Monday (July 8). Not long ago, he was sidelined with an unfortunate accident. Now, he forcing everyone to take notice of him, that too, with performances in England before the main domestic season begins in the country.

PBKS’ Musheer’s dream run continues

The youngest of the Khan brothers, Musheer, hammered a 146-ball 154 against Loughborough UCCE, decorated with 22 boundaries and two sixes, before retiring hurt. His innings powered the MCA side to a dominant 384/5 in 60 overs, with the opposition bowlers running out of answers. This marked his third hundred in as many games, capping a sensational start to the 10-match England tour, which includes five red-ball and five white-ball fixtures.

Just a few weeks ago, Musheer endured a lean run in the Mumbai T20 League, managing only 66 runs in five innings at an average of 16.50 and a strike rate of 124.53. But the shift to English conditions and the longer format appears to have unlocked his true potential.

In the previous match against the Combined National Counties XI (July 3), Musheer was at his all-round best, scoring 125 off 127 in the second innings and taking a match haul of 10 wickets (6/38 and 4/56). His century in the first match came against Nottinghamshire 2nd XI, where he struck 123 from 127 deliveries, helping his side pile up 448 runs in the first innings.

Musheer’s comeback from a serious neck injury sustained in a car accident last year makes this purple patch even more impressive. Not long ago, his future was uncertain. Now, he’s dominating in conditions that many young Indians struggle to adapt to.

The younger brother of Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer was India’s standout performer in the 2024 U-19 World Cup, scoring 360 runs and picking up seven wickets. His left-arm spin has remained sharp, and he’s already bagged 12 wickets across the England tour.
