2026 Grand Prix of St. Petersburg set for March 1

St. Petersburg (Fla.) City Council on Thursday unanimously approved a proposal for Racing of St. Petersburg’s 2026 Firestone Grand Prix in St. Petersburg for racing.
The Indycar Race week will be from 27 February to 1 March to 1 March, with the temporary circuit 1.8-mile, 14-mood configuration through the streets of St. Petersburg. The date is the same calendar week as this year’s race, which opened the season of Indycar.
“The 2025 incident was another tremendous success with a record crowd during three days,” said Kim Green, co-owner and CEO of the organizers of the event. “After consulting with St. Petersburg Staff and the city of many stakeholders, Indycar and our Green Savoree Racing Promotion Teams agree to continue this great downtown tradition on similar dates. We are ready to plan and host the Grand Prix in the same weekend in 2026.”
In 2023 and 2024, Alex Palu of Indycar Series Champion Spain won on 2 March for the first time in St. Petersburg. His chip Ganasi racing team’s partner Scott Dixon finished second and Joseph Newgarden of Team Panke finished third.
