Cal Raili scored two domestic runs and Julio Rodrigues also deepened as Seattle Meriners beat Washington National 9–1 in a three-game interlayer series opener on Tuesday night.
The 18th and 19th homeers of the Raley season took him to the rear of the Aaron Judge of New York Yankis for the American League lead in that category. Los Angeles Doesers’ top of Major with Shohei Ohtani 20.
James Wood worked for the National, who won six of his last eight matches.
Meriners Ruki Logan Evans (3–1) allowed one run on four hits in eight innings. The right hand batsman went one and hit four.
Evans permission was only a single for the other hits fourth, a single for Nathaniel Lowe, a leadoff single by Jose Tena and Double Double by Louis Garcia Junior in Eighth.
The American League West-Leide Meriners took a 3–0 lead in the first innings from Michel Parker (4-4) in Washington’s left hand. JP Crawford hit a single to center and Rodriguez in a two-run shot in the Seattle Bulpen in the Left-Sentor Field. Raley chased with a homer in the second deck in the left area.
Evans did not allow a hit until Wood’s 448-foot explosion, which did not explode directly with the batsman’s eye in the center with one in the fourth.
Raley left his second homer in fifth place with two outs on the parker night.
Parker gave four runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings, with one walk and four strikeouts.
Meriners pulled with three more runs in the sixth. Dylan Moore led a double to the left and Donovan moved to Solano. Both runners proceeded on a wild pitch by Reliever Jackson Rutlage. With one, Moore scored on the third-base line on Ben Williamson’s chopper. Croffard’s groundout at the short scored another run and Rodriguez went to the center on a shallow fly ball in the final run, which went away from the second Basman Garcia glove.
Mariners did with no outside without loading the existence on a pair of runs in the eighth. A potential innings-solution, a double-play grounder, was scored on Garcia’s wrong throw.
